Villa Edal is situated in a very steep and narrow property. The primary intention was to not come into the sight of the neighbouring houses and at the same time have a clear view of the ocean in front.

The form of the house amplifies this and appropiates to itself the air space in front and over the existing houses placed lower in the terrain.
The black colours intention is to blend with the natural colours of Tømmerstø in Kristiansand, contrasting the light interior. From the terrain one have acces to both floors to create a smooth circulation from the outside garden to the inside.
